The morning sun dances on the waves of the Curonian Lagoon as our yacht sets sail from the port of Nida. It is ten o'clock, but the day is already full of summer promises. Our destination is "Šturmų Lighthouse," a restaurant that has consistently ranked among the top ten in Lithuania for several years. It is situated in a unique location where nature and history merge. The yacht glides through the water like a silver fish, leaving a frothy trail of waves behind. To the left stretches the Curonian Spit, its dunes glowing gold in the morning light. The wind caresses our faces, carrying the refreshing scents of sea salt and pine resin.

Soon, the Grey Dunes emerge on the horizon - a mysterious natural wonder. Their silvery-grey sand contrasts with the verdant pine forests, creating an incredible view. The captain tells us about the origin of these dunes and their importance to the Curonian Spit ecosystem, and we listen, entranced by this natural masterpiece.

Midway through our journey, we pass by Ventė Cape. This narrow strip of land, jutting into the lagoon, looks like a bridge created by nature between water and sky. Ventė Cape Ornithological Station reminds us of the thousands of birds that stop here on their long migrations each year.

As we approach our destination, a breathtaking view unfolds before us. A small marina nestled between green meadows and dark pine forests looks like something out of a bygone era. The blue sky reflects on the water's surface, and the vast expanse of the Curonian Lagoon is visible on the horizon.

"Šturmų Lighthouse" is located in a small marina that was once part of a fish farm. The marina is surrounded by various buildings, each with its own character and history. The red tile roofs contrast sharply with the green surroundings, creating a cozy village scene. The white houses with wooden columns resemble ancient fishermen's cottages, while the larger red buildings are relics of the former fish farm.

Next to the restaurant stands a replica of a medieval lighthouse - a symbol reflecting the spirit and history of this place. On the shore, I see three ancient boats - kurėnai, which speak of the restaurant owners' respect for the region's past. These boats not only adorn the surroundings but also tell the story of the region's fishing traditions, reminding visitors of the deep roots of this area.

Upon entering, we are greeted by the warmth of a wooden interior. The decor is simple but brimming with rustic charm - there is much to see, but nothing distracts from the tranquility and the upcoming culinary journey. Although the restaurant's menu is famous for its fish dishes, being a vegetarian, I opt for apple pie and herbal tea. While waiting for my dish, I watch birds soaring over the lagoon through the window, and in the distance, I see white yachts leisurely drifting along paths only they know.

Finally, the herbal tea arrives - its magical aroma enchants even before tasting. Every sip is a journey through the flavors of the Curonian Lagoon's history. The tea perfectly complements the interior - authentic, simple, natural, yet the most wonderful drink because I am enjoying it at this moment and in this place.

Next comes the apple pie. Its crust is crisp and golden, while the inside is tender and fragrant. Each bite is a story of the local orchards' generosity and the beauty of nature. The pie's taste reminds me of a morning by the water when the sun is already up, but the air is still fresh from the night’s coolness.

I finish my meal on the terrace, sitting on a wooden bench and watching white clouds drift over the Curonian Spit. A gentle breeze brings the distant cry of seagulls, reminding me that I am between two worlds - land and water.

As evening falls, "Šturmų Lighthouse" reveals itself in entirely different colors. A hanging flaming lantern becomes the true focal point. Its light, reflecting on the water, creates a magical atmosphere and reminds us of the lighthouse’s true purpose - to be a guide in the dark.

"Šturmų Lighthouse" is not just a restaurant. It is a place where history and the present merge, where every visit is a love letter to the Curonian Lagoon. Here, you can hear what the wind whispers and feel the morning silence's melody. The name "Šturmų Lighthouse" perfectly reflects the spirit of this place - a harbor of tranquility in a stormy history.

Returning by yacht to Nida, the sun’s path on the water looks like a golden road to a land of new discoveries. I carry in my heart not only memories of amazing flavors but also the feeling that I have participated in something magical - the ancient history of the Curonian Spit, which continues to be written every morning at "Šturmų Lighthouse."
