Embark on a magical journey where the sky meets the water and time seems to stand still. Your odyssey begins early in the morning in Nida, this charming town where sand dunes whisper eternal secrets and the scent of pine forests fills the air with summer nostalgia.

Boating across the Curonian Lagoon

The morning glow of the sun gilds the Curonian Lagoon as you step aboard. The water shimmers and sparkles as if studded with many small diamonds. The ship slips out of the harbor, leaving behind the Nida lighthouse, now just a white dot on the horizon. The water spreads under the bow of the ship like a liquid mirror, reflecting the blue of the sky and the patterns of rare clouds.

Your 14-kilometer trip to Vente Ragas starts and lasts about one hour. The ship cuts through the waves, leaving behind a foaming strip of water. The Curonian spit now reveals itself in all its ancient beauty

golden dunes contrast with dark green pine forests, and a strip of white sand separates land from water. Seagulls, like white dots in the blue sky, dive in the air, their screams merge with the quiet murmur of water, creating a unique morning symphony.

Traces of the history of Vente horn

The history of Vente horn is extremely interesting. In the 14th century, Winderburg Castle and a church built by the Crusaders stood here, but the elements were merciless. The waves of the Curonian Lagoon constantly destroyed these structures until they finally disappeared completely. The stones of the castle were later used for the construction of a new church, but this too could not withstand the forces of nature. In 1705, the ruins of the church were transported to Kintus and used for the construction of the local church, which is still standing today and has been declared a monument of Lithuanian architecture.

Approaching Venta, the old lighthouse emerges on the horizon - a silent witness that has watched countless sunrises and storms. Its tower stands out sharply against the blue sky, as if the lighthouse is ready to tell its story to everyone who comes.

Nature treasures and science centers

When you step ashore, you enter another world. The Horn of Ventė opens before you like a living open-air museum, where every stone, every tree has its own story.

Two important objects welcome you in Ventės Ragos: the Ventės Ragos Ornithological Station and the Ventės Ragos branch of the Zoological Museum of Tad Ivanauskas. The ornithological station, established in 1929 at the initiative of Miko Posingis, is the oldest and most important bird ringing station in Lithuania. There is a special atmosphere here - as if you were in the world of birds.

In the morning light, the Horn of Ventė reveals itself in all its beauty - you can see how the sun's rays play on the surface of the water, how the wind combs the tall grass on the coast, how birds dive overhead in search of food.

Two unforgettable hours in the Horn of Vente

An unforgettable experience awaits you in two hours ashore. First, you can climb the original metal stairs to the lighthouse and admire the breathtaking panorama of the Curonian Lagoon. From the top of the lighthouse, you can see unprecedented views - the green plains of the lagoon merge with the sky, and the horizon that accompanies the eyes seems to have no end.

Then you can visit the zoological museum, where you will learn more about the local ornithological station, where the secrets of the world of birds will be revealed. However, the culmination of these two hours is a wonderful lunch time at the "Ventragio" restaurant.

"Ventragis" is an oasis of culinary art by the Curonian Lagoon

After the spectacular tour and panoramas of the lighthouse, your stomach reminds you of itself. Fortunately, there is a real culinary diamond in Ventės Raga - the restaurant "Ventragis", where "the gentle murmur of the Curonian Lagoon intertwines with the delicate art of food and the boundary between nature and taste disappears".

Restaurant atmosphere and environment

The restaurant features a modern and stylish outdoor terrace, where you can enjoy your meal while looking at the shining Curonian Lagoon. Here, every bite takes on a special taste, because food is not only a taste, but also a journey through the cuisine of the Pomeranian region, interwoven with local legends and traditions.

Culinary gastronomy

The restaurant menu is a real spectacle of culinary magic. Here you will find a wide selection of dishes that will impress even gourmets.

Service and atmosphere

"Excellent service, delicious food" - this is what distinguishes "Ventragis" from other restaurants. The waitresses here not only take orders, but also advise, suggesting great combinations to make your culinary experience unforgettable.

On the terrace of the restaurant, where gusts of wind bring the fresh smell of the lagoon, each dish acquires a special shade. Here, "people eat first of all with their eyes" - the food is not only delicious, but also beautifully presented, with delicate sauces drawn on the plates.

Noon in Vente horn

Midday in the Vente Horn is the time when the sun reaches its zenith and the light becomes the brightest. On the terrace of the restaurant, after a hearty lunch, you can enjoy a coffee (€2.00) and watch how the lighthouse casts a short shadow, and the silhouettes of sailing ships can be seen on the horizon.

Return with memories

This trip lasts 4-5 hours: one hour of sailing to Cape Ventės, two unforgettable hours on shore and another hour returning to Nida. It is like a bridge between two worlds: modern Nida and the historical Horn of Venta with its culinary treasures. Restaurant "Ventragis" deserves the highest rating of 5/5, and its only drawback is that it is "too far", otherwise I would like to return here more often.

The ship docks in Nida in the early afternoon, and you disembark with the feeling that you have experienced something special and extraordinary. "Ventragis" is not just a restaurant, but a true center of culinary art, where the beauty of nature merges with culinary masterpieces, creating an unforgettable impression for all visitors.
