We invite you on an unforgettable journey through time on the Curonian Lagoon with the authentic kurenas "Kursis"! If you've ever watched these historical ships sailing on the Curonian Lagoon and dreamed of experiencing that feeling, now you have the opportunity to live it.

We, Sofija and Aurelijus Armonavičiai, have been guardians of the Curonian Spit and custodians of its history for more than three decades. Our passion for this region and its heritage has led us to a special mission – to share an authentic Curonian Lagoon experience with you.

The kurenas "Kursis" is not just a boat, but a living legend of the Curonian Lagoon. This 12-meter long, flat-bottomed sailboat is a true testament to the wisdom and craftsmanship of our ancestors. Built more than a quarter of a century ago based on an authentic model of old Curonian Lagoon fishing boats, "Kursis" invites you on a journey that begins in the present but takes you to the past.

Imagine: you step onto the wooden deck, feeling the gentle sway of the water beneath your feet. Your nose is tickled by the characteristic scent of tar – the same one our ancestors smelled centuries ago. The sails are unfurled, and you move across the expanse of the Curonian Lagoon, observing breathtaking landscapes.

Every journey with "Kursis" is unique. You might spot rare birds, such as the white-tailed eagle with a wingspan reaching 2.5 meters! or even see a moose walking at the foot of the Parnidis Dune.

Our trips are not just about observing nature. It's a living history lesson. We'll tell you about ancient fishing traditions, the significance of weathervanes, and the importance of kurenas in our ancestors' lives. You'll learn that 150 years ago, 300 kurenas sailed the Curonian Lagoon, and their construction was a true art, taking even five years just to prepare the wood!

"Kursis" has a special history connected to the famous Curonian Spit artist and historian Eduard Jonušas. It was his vision and efforts that allowed this ship to be born and become a living symbol of the Curonian Lagoon heritage. We are proud to be able to continue the work he started and share this heritage with you.

Our kurenas is adapted for various groups – it comfortably accommodates from 3 to 12 people. Whether you come with family or a group of friends, "Kursis" will provide you with an unforgettable experience. And to make this historical journey accessible to everyone, we offer flexible pricing: children under 8 sail for free, and young travelers from 8 to 16 years old – for half price.

Embark on this unforgettable journey and become part of the Curonian Lagoon's history! Feel the rhythm of our ancestral fishermen's lives, hear old legends and stories that will come alive before your eyes. With "Kursis," you won't just be sailing the Curonian Lagoon – you'll be traveling through time, experiencing the authentic spirit of the Curonian region and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Join us on the kurenas "Kursis" and discover the secrets, beauty, and history of the Curonian Lagoon. This journey is more than an excursion, it's an authentic experience that will allow you to see our region through the eyes of our ancestors and feel the true spirit of the Curonian Spit. We look forward to your unforgettable adventure on the Curonian Lagoon!
